The Chemistry department was established in the AY 2009-10 by the Government of A.P. with triple major programmes such as MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and BZC (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry) with 40 intake respectively. Presently, along with triple majors, the department is offering chemistry as minor subject under single major pattern following NEP-2020.      The department witness sufficient class rooms and a laboratory to carryout basic experiments to the students.

• Every year the department prepares the academic action plan for theory as well as practicals and will adhere to this plan for transaction of the curriculum.
• In addition to regular teaching, student seminars, assignment, class tests, group discussions, quiz programs are the other cocurricular activities under CIA.
• For better understanding of some of the topics in chemistry, Models, Bio-Visual charts are utilized. For certain complex topics, presentation is being done through ICT following CCE norms.
• After admissions, students are assessed in the classes by putting test on the topics of qualifying examination.
• During the course of the program, continuous evaluation is done by conducting tests and giving assignments.
• Department library is equipped with all modern books including question banks and a number of model papers are made available to the students in the department library for ready reference.
• Guest and extension lectures are regularly arranged every year.
• The department is having MoUs and linkages with other institutions and Industries for internships and placements for the students.
• Ward counselling system is of immense use in knowing the background of the students so as to enable the extended support to academically and sometimes financially poor students.
• Academic review meetings, departmental activities, guest lecture programs, seminars, field trips are the most important activities which are thoroughly discussed in the IQAC and planned for academic year.
